Starting a round
Tap Start a round on Home, choose a course and layout, and add your players. If you’re in a hurry, play a Quick round and set the pars as you go. Your name goes on your scorecards and stays on your phone unless you share a round or take part in an event.
Sharing a round
Open Share round from the scorecard’s menu and go live. Choose whether one scorekeeper keeps score for the group or everyone keeps score on their own phone, then share the link or code. Anyone with it can follow along in the app or at app.throwday.com without an account.
Joining a group from an invite
Scan the QR code on the scorekeeper’s phone or open their invite link, choose your name in the group, and tap Join. When everyone keeps score, your scores sit next to everyone else’s, and any hole the phones don’t agree on is marked unconfirmed until you settle it.
Handing off scorekeeping
If the scorekeeper has to leave, they can hand scorekeeping to another phone in the group from the Share round sheet. The other phone accepts and keeps going with the same scores, and both phones need a connection for the handoff.
Running an event
Create an event, add divisions if you want them, and share its code with the groups. Each group joins the event, players check in and pick a division, and the standings update as the groups score. At the end, players sign their scorecards and you review any holes that still need a decision before you close the event.
Recording a throw
Tap Record throw on the scorecard, and Throwday asks for camera and microphone access the first time. After each throw, Throwday saves the video and offers the next player who isn’t recorded on that hole yet, with Retake and Edit right beside the saved throw and Done when you’re finished. The finished video can be saved to Photos or shared. Saving to Photos asks for permission to add videos to your library.
My Discs and Scan disc
Open My Discs from Profile to add discs and bags. Scan disc reads the stamp with your camera on your phone, and you can also pick a photo of the stamp instead.
Backups and new phones
In Settings, export a backup to save your profile, players, courses, rounds, My Discs, My Styles, and your profile and disc photos to one file, then import it in Settings on your new phone. Videos and access to rounds you share aren’t part of the backup, so save the videos you want to keep to Photos before switching phones.
Playing without a signal
Scoring works offline once your course is saved on your phone. A shared round sends your scores when you’re back online. Searching the course catalog, joining a group, handing off scorekeeping, and checking in to an event need a connection.
